In response to growing concerns regarding the spread of COVID-19, and out of concern for the ongoing health of our riders and members, the board and leadership of the Largo Central Railroad Club have made the decision to cancel all public train runs (first-weekend Public Runs, birthday runs, and special event runs) until further notice.
We deeply regret the disappointment and any inconvenience caused by these cancellations. However, with the rapid spread of this virus and the heightened risk it poses to our more mature riders and club members, we feel it is most prudent to cancel our runs beginning with the first weekend in April. In addition, we would like to minimize any risk to our younger enthusiasts as well.
We have been monitoring the latest information from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, World Health Organization and US Department of State on the spread of the novel coronavirus disease COVID-19. Due to rising concerns regarding large group gatherings and use of common facilities we feel that from a public and personal health perspective it is not judicious to create lines and host rides for the duration of this outbreak.
We thank everyone for their continued support, patronage, and donations. Once the situation normalizes, we will return to operation. Please continue to watch our website at www.lcrailroad.org or our Facebook page for further updates and notices. Thank you for your understanding in this matter.
